A man has been charged following a fatal traffic crash on the Pacific Motorway in Nerang last year.

On November 2 a 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed after taking evasive action to avoid a ladder which fell from a trailer.

As a result, the motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The driver of the ute, a 40-year-old Burleigh Heads man, was yesterday charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

He was issued a Notice to Appear and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on May 5.
