The Gladstone Area Water Board has declared its first low supply alert in 14 years – modelling suggests there’s only five years left of reliable water supply.

The board says Lake Awoonga’s capacity has dropped significantly following years of drought. Restrictions won’t be introduced for locals at this stage, but they are being encouraged to be water-wise.
