Queensland man dies after sustaining ‘severe head injuries’ at Woorabinda party

Attendees of a party where a man sustained fatal head injuries in central Queensland have given “different versions” of events of the night.

The 44-year-old man died in hospital after being seriously injured at a property in Woorabinda, west of Rockhampton, about 4.30am on Wednesday.

Police do not know how the injuries were inflicted, but have labelled the death suspicious.

“What we know at this stage is a 44-year-old male has passed away as a result of severe head injuries,” Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said.

“The circumstances regards to that assault are currently subject to investigation by Woorabina police.

“We’re just trying to determine that this death is suspicious, but obviously we treat all deaths as suspicious…
